New Review Booklets in SAP Group Reporting 2025

Reporting that actually works: the new Review Booklets in SAP Group Reporting 2025. Good reporting should provide insight, not create extra work. With the improvements in the Review Booklets, SAP Group Reporting 2025 takes a clear step towards reporting that is actually used.

Design your own review booklet

The Financial Statement Review Booklet has existed since 2023, but came with clear limitations. In the new release, users can design their own review booklets. Structures, perspectives and presentations can be fully tailored to the organisation's information needs.

This makes it possible to:

  • show more than just equity movements
  • apply reporting rules in a more targeted way
  • create reports that match how users look at figures

For light users, who mainly want to check whether their data has been delivered correctly, this can even make other reporting tools redundant.

Commentary and KPIs in one overview

The commenting functionality has also been visibly improved. Explanations, clarifications and context are captured where they belong: directly next to the figures. In addition, KPIs can easily be calculated within the dashboard.

This makes the review booklets suitable as a basis for management reporting, where figures and interpretation come together.

Insight into accounting data before consolidation

New is a review booklet that reports directly on accounting data in S/4HANA, even before it is released to Group Reporting. This allows finance teams to identify deviations earlier and make adjustments during the month.

A relatively small functional extension, but a major step towards less pressure at the end of the month.

Validating before data is released

Validations defined in Group Reporting can now also be executed on accounting data that has not yet been released. Errors and deviations therefore become visible earlier.

In practice, this means:

  • resolving issues during the month
  • fewer surprises at month-end
  • moving consolidation work forward

This not only saves time, but also increases confidence in the figures.
