Can business users really keep up with the pace of digital transformation without smarter, more intuitive tools? SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) continues to play a key role in answering that challenge. Each quarter, new updates are rolled out to make planning, analysis, and integration faster and more seamless. In Q1, we saw major developments—such as tighter integration with SAP Datasphere and the launch of Compass, enabling Monte Carlo simulations in SAC. The Q2 release builds on that foundation: more focused, sharper, and even more geared towards supporting real, data-driven decision-making.
Smarter AI for Planning & Analytics
Analytical insights with Joule
One of the most requested features is now here: analytical insights powered by Joule, SAP’s AI assistant. Thanks to the "Just Ask" technology within SAC, you can now interact with your data in plain business language. Ask a question in natural language and get immediate answers in the form of clear visuals and relevant KPIs. Data exploration becomes faster, easier, and more intuitive.
Currently, Joule is not yet fully integrated within SAC. The functionality runs inside Joule itself and supports acquired and SAP Datasphere models. Full SAC integration is expected in upcoming releases.
Smart Insights in Datasphere models and Optimized Design Experience
The integration of SAC with SAP Datasphere was already a significant step forward. Previously, planning data had to be pushed back into SAP BW for analysis—an error-prone and inefficient process. Now, planning data is stored directly in Datasphere, enabling faster, real-time analysis—without duplicating data.
New in the Q2 2025 release: Smart Insights is now available for Datasphere models and within the Optimized Design Experience. This feature helps identify underlying trends and key drivers using a blend of visuals and natural language. Ideal for creating visual reports or working with self-service analytics.
Stronger data integration
Live data connection with GoogleBig Query
You can now connect SAP Analytics Cloud directly to Google BigQuery in live mode. This means real-time access to your data—without imports or replication. For organizations working with data lakes and SQL environments, this is a game changer: less storage, faster insights, and more flexible data integration.
Summary
The Q2 2025 updates for SAP Analytics Cloud show a clear focus: smarter AI capabilities, stronger cloud integrations, and tools that help you plan, analyze, and decide more efficiently.
SAP continues to invest in future-proof solutions for business intelligence and enterprise planning. And that offers a real opportunity to rethink how your organization works.
The question is: Are you ready for the next step in data-driven decision making?
